The Tepoinn 3D VR Glasses are essentially a rich man’s google cardboard. It’s a headset, which when combined with your compatible phone, gives you a full 3D/VR experience.
I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t expecting too much based on the price point. However, first appearances with the outer packaging, made me think this could be something special. The headset is well packaged and not only that, but it’s extremely well made from high quality materials.
At this level of quality, I would have expected to pay about £50 for these glasses. You have a couple of buttons which change the perception when wearing the headset, ensuring you get a clearly focused image. This is great for those with eyesight problems and want to have comfortable viewing for a long period of time.
So do the Tepoinn 3D VR glasses perform? Yes, they do. The 3D effect works exceptionally well with 3D YouTube videos. I then tried an actual VR video with head tracking functions – again, this worked flawlessly and I couldn’t believe this was something that cost under £20!
I then tried a VR app. This was ‘Insidious 3’ – a promotional app for the movie. This was another head tracking app which meant if you move your head around, you can see the VR environment around you in a way that it’s like you’re in the actual environment yourself.
The device fits mobile phones up to 6″. so most modern phones will work with this. It’s an excellent experience which allows everyone to try the magic of VR and 3D. There’s so many VR apps to try, from 3DVR apps, to movie theatres which allow you to watch videos you have stored on your phone on a virtual huge screen.
